Construction of Maternity block
This project is supported of the USAID Uganda Voucher plus Activity; a project which aimed at improving obstetric, newborn, and postpartum family planning services of poor mothers through the private sector in Eastern and Northern Uganda using voucher scheme, led by Abt. Associates as the lead implementing organisation. Through reimbursements from the activity, between the year 2017 and June 2021, Pearl Rural Care has constructed a new block maternity building of nine (9) rooms with twenty (20) beds capacity.
The constructed new maternity building has supported maternal and newborn care for more than 6,000 poor mothers and their newborns, and over 2,000 mothers from Lamwo town council and Lukung sub-counties in Lamwo district received post-partum family planning methods.
