The project aimed at improving access to affordable, quality sexual reproductive services and a wide range of contraceptive methods including long-acting and permanent methods in Uganda funded by USAID and UKAID with Marie stopes international Uganda as the lead implementing organization.
Pearl Rural Care implemented this project in Lamwo town council and Lukung sub-counties in Lamwo district from 2015 up to December 2017 through its health center; Pearl health center. Over 2,800 women and 354 men received long term and short term modern family planning methods, as well as over 1,500 women were screened for cervical cancers during the project period.
At the end of the project, Pearl Rural Care health facility received an award of recognition from Marie stopes international Uganda for excellent performance in promoting family planning services and maintaining high quality clinical standards.
